Background Noise
There are millions of people in any given city. How often do you notice them all?
While you go about your day to day and complain about long lines or overcrowding in your favourite venues, some live in the periphery.
They stay up late, work long hours, miss out on events… some don’t have a home to go to.
Here’s to The Guardians that keep us and our venues safe. The Cleaners that pick up our mess after we have already forgotten why we created it in the first place. The Forgotten that sleep rough, finding shelter where they can to ensure they can wake up and live in the morning.
The Cleaner.
Operating outside normal hours. Swooping in after we are gone. Even moving around among the crowds. Unnoticed, under appreciated, absolutely essential.
How often do you stop to say thank you?
Do you usually seek to place blame on them or the careless person before you?
The Guardian.
Ever vigilant. Keeping our venues and precincts safe. Will we miss them when they’re gone?
The Forgotten.
Often blending into the background. Insignificant against the backdrop of the world around them.
Do you even know that they’re there?
